Ford announce LPG availability for Transit ConnectSource: Fleet News March 23 2006Transit Connect has set new class standards in areas including durability, load box, functionality, security and safety and driving quality. Its unique dedicated commercial vehicle platform has brought a new level of toughness and versatility to the sub-one tonne sector. Payload is up to 825kg for SWB and 900kg for LWB models, both available with a choice of three 1.80-litre British-built engines: the 90ps Duratorq TDCi common rail diesel. 60ps TDdi diesel and the 115PS Duratorq petrol engine, which is also available as a bi-fuel petrol/LPG unit. Ease of repair, and straightforward servicing procedures at extended service intervals of 15,000 miles for diesel engines, and 12,000 for petrol, contribute to low running costs which are also helped by competitive fuel economy and low insurance ratings. “Transit Connect is the first truly all-new robust product in the light commercial arena, and the combination of low service maintenance and repair, and strong residual values, provide great whole life costs,” said Kevin Griffin
